Why support a menstruator in need?
In a national survey of 1,000 menstruating teens, 1 in 5 struggled to afford period products and 4 in 5 either missed or knew someone who missed class time because they did not have access to period products.
Period poverty is not just a global issue but a local one as well.
Support the Bedlam Book Cafe's Period Palooza. 1 out of 5 students in the United States does not have access to monthly period products. Our goal is 100 kits to benefit the Worcester Public Schools. Each kit will include 1 reusable pouch, organic cotton and biodegradable pads, tampons and panty liners.
Today we are asking you to sponsor a kit to help menstruator in need. $10 will provide a menstruator with a month supply of period products.
Menstrual products are not covered by government assistance like Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC).
